Windows 7 and ET

I got a problem with ET and win 7.

ET runs so much better on win7 than xp no lags at all. I fixed all the pb issues, im runing it as administrator and "combatible with xp" thingy

now my only problem is ET crashes after sometime of playing, sometimes i can play map or two and sometimes i can play only one min then et crashes and i ger error report, then my PC tilts and i need to reboot.

im runing ET 2.6b with 64 ultimate win7

now im downloading XP mode for windows 7 and test if that works.

K XP mode won't launch ET so now im out of ideas. dunno i won't go back to XP.

dunno maybe i just need to quit ET if i don't get it running without the fucking crash.

oh well hmm i had that problem too , with was because i did the affinity thing .. you know set it to 1 core and priority high then my ET crashed , on WIN7 dont need to do that just simply runs ET normally and do nothing ...

but i see u are running the 64 version and im running the 32 one because erhm ive some program i need .. for work and stuff , and they doesnt work under 64 version.

thats maybe the problems donno , ... i remember also whhen i was under 64 vista i had that problem too with mouse bug and stuff .

i fixed problems under vista it was all goood , but fps was just sucky ...

thats all i can tell you ... try wihtout doing anything when you launch ET and tell me ..

Here are some solutions.

First of all, ET/PunkBuster are fully compatible with Windows 7 and has been since its official release.

Solution:

1º

Before you do anything at all,

Download the latest PBSVC installer from the following link.

Uninstall, install, then press the "Test Services" button. Copy-paste the entire output from the "Test Services" window in a new note.

If this doesn't work, do step 2.

2º

Check if you have allowed PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB in your Windows firewall (if enabled).
Go the Start menu and navigate to the Control Panel. Open the Windows Firewall icon and go to the "Exceptions" tab. Check if both checkboxes for PnkBstrA and PnkBstrB are checked.

Also check in your anti-virus and/or firewall program you are running. You might have to allow both PnkBstrA.exe and PnkBstrB.exe with full permissions in your security software.


If this doesn't work, do step 3.

3º

-Open RUN
-Type in Services.msc
-Find PnkbstrA & PnkBstrB
in the second tab over on the top tick "Allow service to interact with desktop"
-close Services
-Go to game shortcut
-Properties
-Compatibility tab
-Tick the box "Run as Administrator"
-Download the attached file
-Right click -> Properties
-Compatibility ->"Run As Admin"
-Run the .exe
-Run Game

I hope this is useful for ET comunity, works in some other opengl games, and this fix work fine in Windows 7 32bits, in 64bits probably works too.

not true, u still get kicked for windows api function which is caused only at Win 7.

yeah well im kicked for that thing sometimes , but its when i press too much to key ( to restart graph card)
or when i swich btw game and desktop a lot .

ifnot there is no prob and all working correctly.

yeah well i use AGAIN XP for ET ...

since 1 day , me ET stoped to work on seven ..

it worked well for 2 months then something changed but donno why ...

anyway dont care which OS im using for Et till i get my 125 fps and 170 ping on fa its okey

For ET ... yeah but only ET

too old game thats why , the rest run perfectly

yes call of duty ...shift ...all runs perfect...but the best game is owned by win 7 :S
